Anderson Silva Defeats Yushin Okami by a second-round TKO-Silva knocks Okami down with a big left hand and goes in for the finish, Anderson Silva goes in for the finish with knees, hammer fists and body shots, and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight. Anderson Silva retains his UFC middleweight championship. Anderson Silva is still the best MMA fighter in the world.
Mauricio Rua Defeats Forrest Griffin by a first-round KO – After a lack of action, Rua lands a nice uppercut and then a knee. A left-right combo from Rua lands, another high kick from Griffin misses, Rua lands a big right and a left as Griffin moves in, knocking him off balance. Rua swarms in and drops hammer fists on Griffin until Goddard stops the fight. Mauricio Rua gets revenge for his lost to Griffin in their last fight with this incredible TKO. Forrest Griffin has to go back to the drawing board; Rua is one step closer to getting another championship fight.
Edson Barboza defeats Ross Pearson by a Split Decision -this was a close fight, it seemed like Ross Pearson should have gotten the close decision, but this is Brazil and Barboza gets the home-field advantage with this close controversial split-decision.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Defeats Brandan Schaub by a first-round KO-Nogueira lands a nice left that puts Schaub against the fence; he follows with a nice combo. A left hook lands right on the button and Schaub goes face first into the mat. Nogueira adds a couple punches, but they’re hardly necessary. Schaub is all the completely out on the mat. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira schools the younger man and shows him he is still king of the hill. Brandan Schaub tastes defeat and will have to take a step back in his MMA career. It is not nearly time for Nogueira to retire from the UFC; he is still one of the top fighters in his division.
Stanislav Nedkov defeats Luiz Cane by first-round TKO-Nedkov schools Cane gets him in trouble and puts him out. The ref is forced to come in and stop the fight, the crowd boos, claps and boos again as Nedkov eggs them on.
UFC 134 was exciting to watch and made the fans in Brazil incredibly happy. Their three rock stars all won their fights in dominating fashion. Anderson Silva shows the world and Brazil he is still the best MMA fighter in the world. He overpowers Okami and puts him out for good in the second round. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira showed Brandon Schaub the mat and proved he is still a powerful force in the UFC. Nogueira pounded on Schaub until the younger man lay motionless in the middle of the ring. Mauricio Shogun Rua took Forrest Griffin out in the first round; Forrest Griffin had no answer for the power of the Brazilian. The UFC left Brazil tonight leaving fight fans with the realization that Brazilian fighters are a force to be reckoned with.
