What a week! We had the renter in my daughter’s mobile home evicted because he had decided that he did not have to pay rent and it has certainly been a nerve wracking week with trying to get him out. I believe that he is finally gone and I must say that I am thrilled with that! The police have been here three times because he was trying to take things that didn’t belong to him and he threatened to beat my husband with a club to death. Threats like this need to be taken seriously, but the deputy said that there was not really anything that he could do since he didn’t hear it. Yesterday, the renter stole a yard cart/small trailer that my husband owned while my husband was on the phone tellling the dispatcher that he had called for an officer an hour before when the renter was supposed to be out and wasn’t . He was told that they were busy and that they could not work any faster. An hour later when they showed up to take the report, the renter had stolen over $1,000 worth of stuff. Well, they called him and said that he needed to call them and tell them where the stuff was. UGH!! What rights do the people who are doing the right thing have? He should be charged with theft!
In the apartment complex that my daughter lives in, a man went to the home of his ex-girlfriend and tried to break in. When he could not get in, he shot through her door and struck her in the left arm. She called the police and hid in the bathroom and he shot into the apartment again. Thankfully, he left and didn’t kill her, but when the police caught up with him, he shot himself three times in the head. The last my daughter had heard he was in a coma in the hospital. Let me say, no man who shoots himself in the head three times and doesn’t kill himself certainly doesn’t need a gun! LOL!!
We went camping last week and had a really good time even though it rained on us. We enjoyed a nice ride on Saturday that was about 3 hours long and took a nice scenic trail that I had not been on yet. I like going on new trails so that I can see all that I can with the time on the horses. I believe that the next time that we go we are going to ride the trail that takes us from the park to the small town of Story, where the hotel is supposedly haunted along with some of the out buildings around the hotel. There is a small inn there that we can enjoy a meal in and then return to camp on horseback.
School is back in swing. We are finishing our first six weeks now and Bridget does seem to be making a little progress. I am hoping that we can see a lot more the next six weeks. It is important that we make that progress each week. We are trying a new schedule this year by taking a week off after each six weeks. This allows time to recharge and gives me time to do planning for the next block of time. I hope that it works better.
The animals are fine. They are growing stronger and healthier and we are enjoying the late summer with them and I am certainly looking forward to some fall riding. Have fun and enjoy the time you have with your friends and family!
