It’s that time of year again! The big day in which Punxsutawney Phil does his annual act to determine whether the end of winter is in sight or if we should hunker in for some more cold weather. For most of the country, the mild weather so far this winter makes it a moot point if we have six more weeks of unseasonably warm weather.
Just in case you were wondering, Phil did in fact see his shadow and we’re due for at least a few more weeks of winter. Of course, many of the folks in Hollywood have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the big holiday. Here’s what some of the stars are saying about Groundhogs Day:
Funnyman Seth Rogen is concerned about what the potential earth invaders might say writing, “I’d like to be the one to explain Groundhogs Day to the aliens when they come. “See, if the groundhog sees its sha–just kill us. Its okay.”
Late night host Conan O’Brien put his own unique sarcastic spin on the day writing, “I like the name “Groundhog Day” much better than the original “Pull Out The Dirt Rat Time.”
Actress Marlee Matlin took the eco-friendly viewpoint of the day writing, “Happy Groundhog Day. Shadow or no shadow? More winter? Or spring? Or just global warming?”
Actress Jeri Ryan pointed out that another important occasion happened today writing, “Oh, and Happy Groundhog Day AND National Tater Tot Day! I’m sure that probably sounds like a menu somewhere… ;-)”
Leave it to Craig Ferguson to tie in the Kardashians writing, Here in Los Angeles a Kardashian saw it’s shadow. 6 more weeks of smog”
Rocker Pete Wentz took the pessimistic viewpoint writing, “happy groundhog day… ‘Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn’t one today.'”
