Eating fresh produce is part of a healthy lifestyle and getting in the outdoors to get it yourself makes it even healthier. Going to local farms to harvest fruits, vegetables and herbs is great exercise, a wonderful family activity and gives you a chance to enjoy the fruits of labor of local growers. Southern Indiana boasts beautiful rolling hills that encompass fertile land to allow the public to harvest healthy food straight from the farm.

This is one of my local favorites that has a variety of fruits and vegetables during the growing season in southern Indiana. Depending on the time of year you can pick blueberries, green beans, snow peas, raspberries, black berries, and apples. Berry Best also features home grown potatoes, squash, onions, corn, and many other vegetables already picked for you to take home. This farm also has fresh potted herbs, sunflowers, and mums just to name a few of the plants you can purchase to put in your own garden. The folks at Berry Best are super friendly and kids love going to this farm to help pick produce while having some time in the country.
