On our recent visit to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee we decided that we wanted to enjoy a big breakfast before heading out for a day in the national park. That is why we decided to eat at Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin in Pigeon Forge for breakfast. We knew that we would be eating sandwiches and other picnic fare throughout the day, as there are no restaurants in the national park so we wanted to start our day off with a big meal, and felt that breakfast at a pancake house was the way to go.
The kids were super excited to eat at Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin because the restaurant is shaped like a log cabin, and the rustic cabin atmosphere continues on the inside of the restaurant as well.
Even though the restaurant was incredibly busy, we were seated quickly and pleasantly greeted by our waitress. The menu at Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin offers a wide variety of breakfast meals to choose from, many of which have a down home feel to them. As expected you can find a large variety of pancakes to choose from, among the pancake options are Reese’s Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Caribbean Pancakes, and Grandma’s Peanut Butter & Banana Pancakes. In addition to pancakes Flapjack’s also offers omelettes and Campfire Skillets. All of the portions are extremely large, and even the hungriest of visitors are sure to leave full.
However, if you are watching what you eat there are several healthier choices to choose from including an Egg White Veggie Omelette, and Low Carb Breakfast Skillet. The littlest visitors can choose from the options on Flapjack’s kid’s menu.
Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin in Pigeon Forge is open Monday through Friday from 7 AM until noon, and on the weekend from 7 AM until 1 PM.
They are a family owned and operated restaurant and we did feel like we were in a family atmosphere while we were here. The environment was warm and inviting, which made our breakfast pleasant.
The food, which is said to be made from scratch, came very quickly after we ordered it. Most importantly, our food was exactly as we ordered it, which doesn’t always happen in restaurants with a family our size, and is a definite plus.
Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin also offers a gift shop at the register area that offers typical rustic gifts and collectibles. In addition you can also purchase items some of Flapjack’s signature items including bags of their Clingman’s Dome Coffee Blend, and their signature Maple Syrup in the gift shop.
