Neil and Devon go to Catherine’s to meet with her about Devon’s new position as the head of her newly formed music division. Neil is curious about Catherine’s surprise interest in the music industry and of her selection of his young and inexperienced son for the position of CEO. Just as they arrive at the Chancellor estate Catherine informs them that she must postpone their meeting because she has to go the hospital to check on Delia. Unaware of Delia’s illness and her need for a bone marrow transplant, Devon and Neil both offer to be tested.
Ashley goes to Tucker to ask for his help in finding Billy. He agrees and calls his staff to get them on Billy’s trail telling them to spare no expense and leave no rock unturned while looking for his brother-in-law. Tucker tells Ashley that he will be tested to help Delia because Delia is his family too. At the hospital Ashley and Tucker run into Catherine. Ashley asks Catherine if she will join her for coffee and Catherine agrees. During their talk Ashley goes off on Catherine telling her that she has known her all of her life and that she does not understand how the gentle, caring, compassionate Catherine that she has known could be so cold, callous and distant to her own child. Catherine is offended by Ashley’s words and tells her that her relationship with Tucker is none of her business. Ashley does not back down and tells Catherine in no uncertain terms that she is connected to Tucker and that what affects him affects her.
It has been one year since Billy and Victoria exchanged their wedding vows. Jill goes to comfort Victoria and also to vent lay her frustration with Billy on Victoria’s shoulders. As usual Jill’s comforting skills come up short and Victoria finally tells Jill to just leave her alone because she can’t take Jill’s Billy Trip” today. Victoria continues her reflections on she and Billy’s beginning and what seems to be their end. Just as she is distracting herself with work Sam appears at the door with a dog from the animal shelter where he has been volunteering. Victoria immediately falls in love with the animal and calls him Keely; she decides to keep him which was exactly what Sam was counting on.
Nick and Phyllis have another night between the sheets and Phyllis is glowing that things are getting back to the way they were. She and Nick’s chemistry seems again to be hot and blended. After their pillow talk Nick and Phyllis talk of Sharon’s retrial and Nick speaks highly of Avery and how be believes she can help Sharon. Phyllis tries to caution Nick that Avery might not be all that she is cracked up to be. A naÃƒÆ’Ã†’Ãƒ’Ã’Â¯ve Nick believes that Phyllis is concerned that if Avery comes up short in her lawyer skills his children will be disappointed that their mother will remain behind bars. Little does he know that Phyllis has other motives for bad mouthing Avery (the sister that no knows exists from the family that no one knows that Phyllis has). Avery calls Nick and asks him to meet her at the courthouse so that he might answer some questions she has about Sharon’s case. He call to Nick’s phone is unanswered and goes straight to his voicemail.
After Nick leaves Phyllis’s bed, she calls Avery and insists on seeing her so that the two of them can talk. Avery reminds Phyllis that she asked her to stay away and that is what she intends to do. Avery is smart cookie and she realizes that Phyllis must want something to now be reaching out to her; she tells Phyllis she is working at the courthouse and hangs up the phone.
Nick remembers that today is Victoria’s wedding anniversary and he goes to check on her. He finds Victoria with Sam and Keely and in a better mood than he expected her to be. Victoria also notices that Nick is in a good mood. Seeing that his sister is okay Nick leaves to go and run errands.
At the hospital Ronan shows up and when Chloe sees him she goes off telling him that she just wants him to go away and stay away. When the nurse tells Ronan in front of Chloe that he is not a match because of his transplant and medical history, she realizes that he came to the hospital to be tested. An unapologetic Chloe tells him that he should have just told her why he was there. When Chloe confesses to Ronan that she is worried about her Delia and that she can’t fix her daughter’s problem, he embraces her and comforts her.
Tucker sees Devon and Neil at the hospital and they tell him they are there to be tested. While Neil is being tested Tucker reminds Devon that his decision to let release him from his contract with his music division was strictly business and nothing personal. Devon tells Tucker that he has no hard feelings; that sometimes when your dream gets rained on sometimes when the sun finally shines through your dream is even bigger than you ever imagined. Just as Tucker is about to question Devon about his euphoric state Devon is whisked away by the nurses to be tested.
The nurse takes Tucker and Devon of their results and that though they are not a donor match they each share the same rare blood type. The two think nothing of the nurse’s comments and go their separate ways.
Back at the Chancellor Mansion Catherine’s long standing attorney Mitch has been summoned to change Catherine’s will and add Devon as an heir with equal shares to Catherine’s estate. Mitchell questions Catherine’s request but as always he does just as she instructs him to do. Jill somehow gets wind of the changes Catherine is making in her will and questions her motives. She asks Catherine point blank if Devon is Tucker’s son.
Chloe is upset when she learns that she is not a match for her daughter. Ronan and Jill both are present when she learns the news and she asks them both to leave the room. Delia asks her mom if they can go home, torn apart by her daughters request and pain, Chloe comforts her baby girl cuddling her and singing her a lullaby; Ronan is outside Delia’s hospital door; he peeks in to see the picture of a loving and gentle Chloe.
Billy reappears somewhere unknown, he is unshaven and seemingly thirsty and lying in a very small space. He is either in a small restricted space or he is somewhere, plastered with alcohol.
Phyllis shows up at the courthouse to see Avery. Not surprised by her sister’s antics the two exchange words and Phyllis tells her sister that she had to leave home when she did. She tells her that she has made a life for herself in Genoa City and the discovery that Avery is her and the lies she told to hide her past would her life in Genoa City away. Avery questions Phyllis about how she got away with her lies for so long. She asks her sister if neither her husbands nor her children ever question her about her parents or family. Phyllis tells Avery that those in her life did ask questions but she lied to hide the truth. As she pleads with Avery to keep her secret to hide the truth from people, Avery tells Phyllis that she is not worried about people, only Nick. Avery reminds Phyllis that Michael Baldwin already knows that they are sisters and that it is a matter of public record in the deposition that Phyllis gave when she deposed her. Phyllis in her usual arrogant self tells her sister that nobody reads depositions and that if she keeps her mouth closed no one has to know that they are sisters. Just as she utters those words, Nick enters the room, hearing Phyllis’s words and says what? Next on the Young and the Restless………..
