Safe Bets – If there is such a thing in this league of parity…
Browns – The Bengals offense was dismantled this offseason.
Chiefs – It will be tough for them to beat their 10-6 record from last year facing a strong schedule in 2011. They will get off to a strong start versus Buffalo though.
Eagles – Philly has put together a championship team. They will win on the road against a decent St. Louis squad.
Texans – Houston a safe bet versus big brother Indy? They proved last year they can beat them and the Colts won’t have Manning.
Chargers – Phillip Rivers, Vincent Jackson, Antonio Gates, Ryan Matthews, this is a team that can score. McNabb and the Vikings won’t be able to keep up.
Cardinals – Cam Newton is starting for Carolina. They will not win many games this year.
Patriots – This defensive line with Ellis and Haynesworth could be scary. Henne and the Dolphins are not going to beat them.
Closer Calls – Go with your gut…
Packers – You have to give the defending champion the nod in week 1. Presumably they are better than ever – everyone back healthy and the rookies more experienced.
Atlanta – Matt Ryan’s offensive powerhouse plays against a perennially good defense in Chicago. The Bears will fight, but go down fighting.
Jaguars – Well the Jags just fired their starting QB but the Titans are actually in worse turmoil.
Giants – Division matchup. Washington actually looks improved by offseason moves this year, but it won’t be enough to beat the Giants.
Jets – Superbowl preview? I doubt it but should be a great game between two playoff contenders.
Knuckle Balls – Who knows…
Buccaneers – Two up and coming teams. Tampa barely gets the nod by a point and a half.
Niners – Both teams are rebuilding. San Fran is the better team right now and should take this from Seattle with but you never know.
Upsets – Embrace the underdog…
Steelers – Sheridan has the Ravens by 2.5 but I’ll take the Steelers in this divisional dogfight.
