Monday night on “Dancing with the Stars,” the final five couples had to dance two individual dances, including the instant dance. J.R. & Karina excelled under the pressure, earning a perfect score for both dances. Their biggest competition, Ricki & Derek, had a little trouble with their instant dance and tied for second place with Hope & Maks. On the result’s show, the question was whether or not it really was midnight for Nancy & Tristan.
The show opened with female pros dancing to “I Am Woman.” Rob & Cheryl, Hope & Maks and J.R. & Karina were the first couples to learn whether they were safe or in jeopardy. After the couples gave a night of high energy performances, J.R. & Karina were the first couple to make it to the semifinals. Hope & Maks also made it to the semifinals, while Rob & Cheryl found out they were in jeopardy.
DanceCenter made its Season 13 premiere on “Dancing with the Stars.” Season 2 runner up Jerry Rice, Kenny Mayne and Len Goodman analyzed each couple. Of course, they made humorous comments. While the show never brought up the Kim Kardashian divorce, DanceCenter’s Kenny Mayne went there. He also brought up how Rob kept bringing up his graduation from USC. It has seemed like Rob wants the audience to know he’s not some idiot.
Andrea Bocelli programmed a song from his latest album, “Concerto, One Night in Central Park.” It was a song reminiscent of traditional ballroom songs. Male pros came out in tuxedoes with tails, top hats and canes, while the women dressed in classic ball gowns.
DanceCenter came back to analyze Nancy Grace and Hope Solo. They made fun of Nancy’s past career as a cheerleader. They talked about Hope’s abilities and showed disturbing footage of Len Goodman not wearing a shirt.
Cirque Du Soleil “Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour” performers recreated his classic moves to some of his greatest hits, mixed with the acrobatics Cirque Du Soleil has become known for. I could be wrong, but it seemed ironic that this tribute came on the same week as the Conrad Murray trial reached a verdict. After the commercial break, Flo Rida performed their latest song featuring Livvi Franc.
Nancy & Tristan and Ricki & Derek, the two oldest pros, were up after the musical performances. Ricki & Derek definitely made to the semifinals. Nancy & Tristan had to wait with Rob & Cheryl to find out who would be the fourth couple in the semifinals. The two remaining couples stood on the platform and waited. It truly became midnight for Nancy & Tristan. Now, she can go home and talk about the Conrad Murray trial on her television show.
Now that the semifinals has been set, the remaining couples on “Dancing with the Stars” will have to prove that they deserve to be there. Rob proved he was a better dancer than his sister Kim, while Hope finally started showing her true potential. As I’ve said before, I think it’s J.R. & Karina and Ricki & Derek against the other couples.
